TRIPS AND TOURS
To complement the extra-curricular activities hosted in school, we arrange exciting educational trips and sporting tours around the UK and overseas throughout the school year.
The trips and tours we organise help to enrich our curriculum teaching, stretching pupils’ abilities and broaden their horizons. They provide entertainment, excitement and education, while enabling pupils to develop their interests and talents, and discover more about themselves.
Sporting tours
We run sporting tours every year for cricket, rugby, hockey and netball. These include an annual senior rugby tour to Ireland and a senior hockey tour to Barcelona. We also run several junior sports tours within the UK, giving pupils the chance to compete against schools outside our region.
In addition to our annual cricket tour every year, we undertake an international tour every few years. Previously these have taken us to Sri Lanka and Barbados, enabling pupils to explore fascinating places and experience different cultures.
Educational trips
Curriculum teaching is supported by a whole range of trips and outings to put lessons into context and bring subjects to life. These are organised by subject teachers and include History trips to local battlefields, Maths coding workshops at Bletchley Park, English trips to Stratford-upon-Avon and Geography trips to a local power station. We also run a trip to Cadbury’s World as well as excursions to theatres, art galleries and other places of interest.
Annual skiing trip
For many children, the highlight of the school year is our annual skiing holiday. It’s a hugely popular trip, which is offered to pupils in Forms VI-I (Years 3 to 8), once they enter the prep school.
