The festive season is in full swing at Maidwell Hall, with a week of wonderful Christmas celebrations that have brought smiles, laughter, and joy to pupils, parents, and staff alike. From woodland walks and nativity performances to pantomimes and festive lunches, it's been a magical time for our whole community.

The festivities began with a magical woodland walk last weekend, as we welcomed nearly 200 parents and children to Maidwell Hall for a special visit to Father Christmas. Guided by cheerful elves, families followed a twinkling path through the woods, leading to an enchanting meeting with the man in red himself. Afterwards, everyone warmed up with mince pies before heading to the library for Christmas crafts. It was a joyful afternoon that set the tone for the week ahead.

The following days were filled with even more festive fun. The LOL Touring Theatre Company brought the house down with a brilliant performance of Beauty and the Beast. With plenty of audience participation, laughter, and classic panto moments, the show filled the halls of Maidwell Hall with Christmas cheer — and yes, there were plenty of “He’s behind you!” moments to keep everyone entertained.

Our Pre-Prep pupils then took to the stage for their much-loved Nativity performance. The children delivered a beautiful and heartfelt show, reminding us all of the true spirit of Christmas. Their confidence and enthusiasm were clear to see, and the audience of proud families was full of smiles and applause.

There was more festive excitement as Pre-Prep ventured out on a trip to Welford Christmas Tree Farm. The children enjoyed feeding reindeer, searching for elf homes, and sampling tasty treats before choosing baubles to take home. The trip brought huge smiles and added another sprinkle of Christmas magic to their week.

The celebrations were rounded off with a delicious Christmas lunch in the dining hall, where pupils and staff gathered to enjoy a festive feast. With decorations, crackers, and plenty of seasonal cheer, the meal was the perfect way to wrap up a magical week at Maidwell Hall.
