Last weekend was our much-anticipated Big Boarding Weekend, with our pupils enjoying plenty of festive activities together. The weekend began with a fireside viewing of 'The Snowman’ with hot chocolate and popcorn on the Friday evening. Pupils then had a brilliant time at a very special disco on Saturday with our very own DJ Mr Glaysher playing some of their favourite songs on the decks to get everyone in the dancing spirit.

After all being involved in the Christmas Concert for their parents, they had a delicious Sunday Lunch and then embraced the opportunity to try a selection of Christmas activities, including baking mince pies, assembling gingerbread houses, scavenger hunts, pinning the nose on Rudoph before a very competitive game of bingo. Of course, not forgetting one of the most important parts, planning and creating the Dorm Decs! This is a very popular Christmas tradition that sees the children decorate their dorms with homemade decorations, with the winners being announced at the end of next week.

To round everything off, there was the choice in the evening to watch the World Cup or
a Christmas Film, of course accompanied by more hot chocolate and marshmallows.
After such a jam packed weekend, there’s no doubt that everyone at Maidwell is firmly
in the Christmas spirit! A great thank you to all the staff who helped make this weekend
so much fun for all the children.
