As soon as our Form Is (Year 8s) had finished their Common Entrance exams they jumped in the minibuses and headed off for the annual Leavers’ Walk which is the start of their fantastic Leavers’ Programme.

This year they were walking 45 miles along the beautiful but very challenging coastal path of North Devon to raise money for the Air Ambulance. They walked for a total of 45 hours and climbed to a total of 2,750m!

Every night they put up their tents and each morning they cooked their own porridge. They showed incredible resilience, fortitude and humour, sporting a few blisters but also some very big smiles.

Thank you to Jake Whitehead and the Maidwell team for their hard work, as well as our brilliant parents who walked, cooked, planned and shopped to ensure it all went smoothly.
